Hi, I’m James.
This is the bit where I’m supposed to write lots of interesting stuff about my process and how I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pencil. Well it’s true, I have been drawing for as long as I can remember, but I also used to use my pencil as a screwdriver – copying my dad whilst he did DIY. I tried to unscrew many a plug socket. Thankfully, I survived without electrocution and now my pencils are used for the purpose they were intended.
Portraiture is incredibly important to me, I find the anatomy of the head fascinating and I love studying a face and bringing it to life in my own way. Seeing a face begin to look back at me as I lay down marks, never gets old. Every portrait excites me.
